1% for the Planet

We have been part of 1% for the Planet for over a year, contributing 1% of our annual revenue to environmental partners. It sits within how we work, as an acknowledgement of our place within the environments we move through, and as a simple expression of care.

Much of our work is shaped by the natural world. Coastlines, forests, light and landscape are not just settings but part of the experience itself. Spending time in these places brings an awareness of both their beauty and their sensitivity.

Cala is a team of people who are naturally drawn to travel and to the environments we spend time in. That connection carries across work and personal life. Supporting environmental causes feels aligned with that, not as something added on, but as a continuation of what is already there.

Our 1% contribution is shared across the team, allowing each person to support causes that feel personally meaningful. The organisations we have supported span conservation, climate, animal welfare, anti poaching efforts in Zimbabwe, carbon programmes, national trails, and work addressing ocean plastic. Each choice reflects an individual connection, while remaining part of a wider whole.

We will continue as part of 1% for the Planet in the same spirit. Not with an explicit goal of resolving something, but as an ongoing expression of care, alongside a broader collective of people and organisations supporting the natural world.
