We began the year together in Mallorca. It marked an important moment for the company as we stepped into Cala following the transition from CP Creatives. The time was shared between reflecting on what’s brought us here and considering how we want to show up as Cala going forward.
Mallorca is home to one of our founders, Ian, and the setting offered a grounded way to come together. We started with a walk along one of his favourite nearby calas, which gave us some time to enjoy nature before the days ahead.
The rhythm of the following days was shaped more by being together than by any fixed agenda. Shared meals, coastal hikes, conversations, time on the padel court and moments away from projects created space to connect in a different way and reflect on where we are as a team.
We made space for people to share parts of themselves beyond their roles. Ellie led a yoga session that was thoughtful and accessible, taking time to explain the fundamentals as well as guide the practice. Kelly facilitated a session focused on what we each hope for in 2026, creating room for reflection and honesty. Alex shared his knowledge of coffee through a hands-on workshop, covering roasting, milk frothing and latte art - great fun and plenty more practice needed for the team!
A sense of genuine connection is one of the foundations of Cala. It shaped the company early on and remains important as the team grows. Taking time to listen, learn and relate to one another is part of how we work and build trust.
Stepping away together and looking ahead with intention felt both necessary and grounding. There is a quiet confidence within the group about the year ahead, rooted in a shared understanding of who we are as Cala, and how we want to work together.
