The Cala team arrived in high spirits to begin a shoot at Hilton’s Zemi Miches All-Inclusive resort in February.
During the scout we were struck not just by the sense of luxury the property offers but also its scale. Over 800 metres of Caribbean coastline makes for a serene place to enjoy the sun, the bright blue ocean and surrounding luscious greenery. Ideas were forming as we walked around the resort - how to capture locations and what it felt like to be there.

Before we began shooting, we took a moment all together - the Cala team, hair and make up, models, guardians and hotel staff. This introduction and preview to the week feels like a nice opportunity to start to connect as a group and build a comfortable environment for people to be in.
The first half of the shoot was with a model family showcasing many of the hotel’s amenities, ranging from the spa, to their Thai restaurant and a Cala first - laser tag at the teens’ club. It was really fun to shoot something unique for us; and the models seemed to enjoy themselves too!

The second half of the shoot was with a model couple, highlighting some of the more romantic experiences available. The Club Azure areas of the resort offer an even more upscale and exclusive experience for guests. The team particularly enjoyed shooting the Royal Palm rooftop infinity pool with a vast backdrop of the ocean.

Looking back on the week, a highlight was - as is often the case for us - the people we were working and collaborating with. Returning to the Dominican Republic, it was a pleasure to be working in such a beautiful place and we hope to be back there soon!
